In recent years, there has been an uptick in applications to Tufts University. While the overall acceptance rate has remained relatively stable, the early decision acceptance rate has seen a significant increase. Tufts University is one of the most popular colleges in the country, and its Early Decision program is highly selective. The class of 2025 had a mere 26% chance of getting admitted through Early Decision.

In general, only 11.4% of students who applied to Tufts were accepted into the Class of 2025. That means that less than 12 out of every 100 applicants were accepted.

Despite the low odds of getting in, more and more students are applying to Tufts. First-generation college applications increased by 51% from 2019 to 2021, and applications for students of color increased by 30%.

Early Decision I Admission decisions will be made and released by the end of December. There are three possible outcomes from the program: accepted, deferred, or denied.

If you are accepted to Tufts through Early Decision, you must submit your financial aid application material by the specified deadline in order to be reviewed for need-based financial aid. Within seven days of completing your documentation, you will receive comprehensive information about your financial aid package.

For those considering applying early decision to Tufts University, the deadline is fast approaching: November 1.

ED offers applicants a number of advantages, including increased likelihood of admission and earlier notification of your status. As of right now, the Tufts ED deferral rate is unknown. However, students who are deferred still have a chance of being admitted in later rounds. Decisions for deferred students will be released on April 1st. The Tufts Early Decision acceptance rate was 20.5% last year, so there's still hope for those who have been deferred!

Alumni interviews are conducted online for both Early Decision I and II applicants. These interviews are optional, but they're a great way to learn more about the school and get your questions answered.

The Secondary School Report and two letters of recommendations are due on the following dates: November 23 for Early Decision I applicants and January 11 for Early Decision II applicants. These forms can be submitted online or mailed in.

The application fee is $75 for either Early Decision I or II. You can pay this fee online when you submit your application.

Tufts has a very competitive admissions process, but they do offer a few tips for increasing your chances of admission. First, make sure your high school transcript reflects strong grades in challenging courses. Second, write thoughtful and engaging essays that show who you are as a person.
